Medieval replica dog collars lovingly recreated

Get Medieval on Your Dog!

Unbeknownst to us the Leeds Castle Dog Collar Museum (ed: Dog Collar Museum?!?) has partnered with to offer museum quality reproductions of a Medieval period sterling silver dog collar. The original collar that these are based upon was worn by Earl Talbot’s dog Tabinet in London. The collar is made through a laborious hammering process known as repoussé and chasing. Each collar is custom built by NYC silversmith William Manfredi per the dog’s size and dimensions. On the cartouche (a blank rectangle opposite the leash hook) you can have any wording you would like engraved (eg. something classy like “Bitches love me”). All of this proximity to British Aristocracy has a pricetag of $2400.00 but ’tis a pittance for a slice of historical dog style.
