Holy cuteness alert!! Amelia Santiago of Amelia Makes Art sculpts animal masterpieces using a technique of needle felting the same way one would sculpt clay. She doesn’t use patterns, thread or sewing just a needle, some felt and her skillful imagination! She specializes in commissioned portraits and works from a photo of your pet. When I found her on Twitter, I was blown away by how true to life her sculptures are. Truly amazing works of art to snuggle with or put on a shelf for display. Makes an awesome birthday gift that will never pee on the floor or chew your shoes! Prices for commissioned pet portraits range from $215-$265 – with each pet taking 20+ hours to create! Last night, Jon and I were VIP guests at the Martha Stewart Living Blogher Night Out party located NYC.
The party was filled with lovely ladies in pretty pastel summer dresses styled with sassy heels and well appointed hand bags. The entire crowed looked as if they stepped right off the pages of Martha Stewart Living. Her offices remind me of a the sounds stages and hallways of QVC. Large and vast with a fully decked out test kitchen, coolers for stashing fresh flowers, rooms filled with TV monitors and computer screens, inspiration boards and rows and rows of desks. All down up in the signature clean, pastel Martha style of course.
Martha Stewart Living is truly a massive and inspirational operation. Clearly operates like a large finely tuned machine with a mission for perfection.
The event was really a branding and product sampling opportunity for the Martha Stewart Living brands and other companies like Kraft who she has deals with. There were stations set up demonstrating all of her products ranging from crafts, wedding and the new PET LINE! PupStyle.com is honored to be included in Martha’s exclusive invite only club, “Martha Circle” so it was a treat to finally meet the editors of the DailyWag.com and touch and feel the pet product line.
Her line shows huge potential in the affordable market space. PupStyle has been on a mission to elevate taste levels in the pet industry for the past 8 years and Martha has finally come to the rescue. My favorite products in her line are her innovative food bowls, food lids & place mats. Great style and totally affordable. She also has some cute halloween chew toys that are guaranteed to make you crack up. Not made for the heavy chewer and her line is clearly skewed towards smaller dogs. Don’t forget the big guys Martha….more money to be made girl friend!
