Now you can crate your nano-Nemo whilest fulfilling your wildest steampunk fantasies! Hands down the most innovative crate design of recent memory – this domed doggy domicile is made of precisely bent metal rods welded together. The eCRATE comes fitted with a tailored sweater (see image below) to swaddle the exo-skeleton and keep your rug-rat as snug as a bug. Designer Peter Pracilio saw a clunky, boxy and glaring gap in the marketplace – the lowly dog crate. Relegated to lame “quilted tea cozy” attempts to beautify their boxy exterior – crates had always been a “back of the dog boutique” kind of item. But with Pracilio’s reinvention of it’s form – front window display here we come! (Move aside dog tent there’s a trendy new dome home in town). Check out this video of the whole design process from drawing board to proto-beast cage (with fresh electro beats!). Not available for sale yet but we will announce it here when its available online. Keeping up with the new trend of designing dog products that mom and dad can share with pooch, Scandinavian inspired Pet Project has carefully designed a dog or cat “room” that can also double as a fine end table next to a couch or chair. Their whole product line carefully marries sleek minimalist design with function so you don’t have to shove that raggedy, old dog bed in the closet when hosting your next cocktail party. In fact, you could even serve up Martinis on top of this clever cube!
The exterior is made from finely grained Walnut and measures 22.8″ H x 17.7″ W x 19.7″ D. Priced at $650 and available at idChicago.
If you want real, honest luxury for your dog, here is the Must-Have for the chilly holidays; The Opus Canine Lilium Aurora Dog Blanket. Opvs Canis is one of the rare designer dog product companies that actually understands the meaning of “true” dog luxury. They have skillfully designed the most decadent and elegant dog blanket we’ve ever seen. This Lodice (fancy Roman term for a villa blanket, who knew?) features two-plys of top grade satin with a Fleur-de-lys pattern woven in the Jacquard technique and is lined with 100% pure cashmere on the other side. Each piece is hand crafted and meant to be treated like a fine household heirloom and generally takes about 6 weeks to be made. Luxury at this level has it’s price and for this piece of luxe-living it is $600.00 USD. Due to their delicate nature the 30″ x 36″ blanket should be dry cleaned only. So no muddy feet on this one!
